History
Until 2014, there were no American Football women’s teams in the capital city, San Jose. The sport only had men’s teams. However, that changed this same year thanks to the idea of a Costa Rican woman who took the initiative to start a team in central San Jose.
The first meeting to create the team was held in a San Jose restaurant, where 8 girls agreed to start with the team. After this meeting, the team was officially announced on May 8th, 2014 at the Tropic Bowl IV. However, the first practice for the team didn’t occur until May 29th, with the presence of only 3 girls and 1 coach. At that time the team was initially named AMAZONAS F.A., but a few months later after a few temporary management and name changes the team was officially renamed the Olympian GODDESSES CR F.A.
The two teams in Costa Rica at the time; GODDESSES and ANGELS Football, Perez Zeledon played the first historic Exhibition game at the Tropic Bowl V during May of 2015.
On May 14th 2016, for the first time in the country, there was an international women’s game. For that game the teams GODDESSES and ANGELS united together and practiced as one team (during the months of April and May) in order to create the CR ALL STARS F.A. The team won with a landslide victory of 32-0 over the visiting Honduras team.
ADMFA 2018 3rd place.
GWFL 2019 2nd place.
GWFL 2020 & 2021 - Covid Shutdown
GWFL 2022 2nd place.
Nowadays the team has practice every Sunday at 7:30 AM in La Sabana Park, West, in front of TeleTica (next to the National Stadium), San Jose.
For the past few years the number of players on the team roster varies from 20 to 25.
